The Qemists

Need some good drum’n'bass (mixed with rock and others) to get you started? Look no further, The Qemists have the tunes. The UK based band started of in 2005 with their debut album, a remix of Coldcut’s “Everything Is Under Control”. Since then they released a couple of singles, many remixes and delivered some solid performances. One of my favorites is “Let There Be Light” (also because it’s features sound clips from Animatrix - Second Renaissance part 1, perfectly blended into the song). As a proof their skills their tracks made it into the Radio 1 Essential mixes of Pendulum and Coldcut. Their former gigs as a rock band is most certain a influence on their current work, a very positive one. So get their singles as soon as you can and listen to them with maxed out volume. Need For Speed: Undercover OST

Need for Speed: Undercover was released a couple of days ago for the XBox360, and will be available for PC on the 21st, and with all the promising trailers around I just had to check it out. The game is not as good as you might expect, it’s… average, although the graphics, cars & the city look amazing, and you will find youself neglecting the race because you just gaze at the scenery. But that’s not the thing that struck me the most. The real gem which I discovered was the soundtrack, and it rules. I didn’t like music of the previous games, except for NFS: Underground (the original, not 2) where the aggressive music really amplified the sensation of driving out of control through the streets. In this installment, the sountrack shifts towards Drum’n'Bass and one of great quality. There’s almost no rock & hip-hop tunes. There are 3 Pendulum tracks, a Qemists Spor remix, Ladytron, an awsome Mindless Self Indulgence remix, Prodigy, even Amon Tobin and they all fit perfectly. Maybe you’re not a big fan of games or car sims but the OST is a must.

Matrix & Futurebound - Universal Truth

Matrix & Futurebound - Universal Truth

Not the newest album out there, but most def one of the best out in a while. What you get is fresh tunes perfectly paced, and there’s really nothing left to be desired. Whether it’s funky, drum’n'bass or breaks everything is in the right amount. Maybe not the best album for parties, although “Knite Riderz” will definatelly get people hopping. Still, awesome music for driving and personal enjoyment. Tracks like “All Born Angels” and “Coast to Coast” will stick with you for quite a while.
