Need For Speed: Undercover OST

Need for Speed: Undercover was released a couple of days ago for the XBox360, and will be available for PC on the 21st, and with all the promising trailers around I just had to check it out. The game is not as good as you might expect, it’s… average, although the graphics, cars & the city look amazing, and you will find youself neglecting the race because you just gaze at the scenery. But that’s not the thing that struck me the most. The real gem which I discovered was the soundtrack, and it rules. I didn’t like music of the previous games, except for NFS: Underground (the original, not 2) where the aggressive music really amplified the sensation of driving out of control through the streets. In this installment, the sountrack shifts towards Drum’n'Bass and one of great quality. There’s almost no rock & hip-hop tunes. There are 3 Pendulum tracks, a Qemists Spor remix, Ladytron, an awsome Mindless Self Indulgence remix, Prodigy, even Amon Tobin and they all fit perfectly. Maybe you’re not a big fan of games or car sims but the OST is a must.

Wrath of the Lich King

The new World of Warcraft expansion in now in stores, and at 27h after it’s launch a french player already hit the new level cap: 80. The character who earned this achievement is Nymh from France. It must have been quite a race, considering only a couple of hours after the release there were several characters with level 74. The new expansion is returning to the dark & medieval style of the base game, leaving behind the more SF trend of the first expansion. The graphics and environment are amazing: the Aurora Borealis in Northrend looks great, the cities & buildings are much more detailed and you feel cold only by looking at the landscape. Overall, a great expansion, in my opinion a better one then Burning Crusade, that brings new life to an already impressive world.

Gears of War 2 is out!

Time seemed to drip rather then flow until the release of the Gears of War sequel, but it’s finally out. I still play the first game on the PC, but now that Epic announced that it won’t release a PC version a XBox360 is a must have/buy for this Christmas. The game is trully bigger, better and more bad-ass than the first which already was great. Epic found with this game the perfect mix of story, action and violence needed in a first person shooter. From the awesome graphics to the multiplayer this game received praises all over the review sites. I’m quite choosy when it comes to games since I always look for the perfect balance between story and gameplay and I wasn’t this hyped since Max Payne 2. If you’re still not convinced check out this multiplayer gameplay footage.
